The Early Childhood Education program is designed to give you the skills to help young children from all cultures and backgrounds grow intellectually, socially and emotionally. Robertson’s ECE program is recognized by the Child Care Qualification and Training Committee and is provincially accredited by the Government of Manitoba. Successful graduates will be able to apply for the Early Childhood Educator, Level 2 classification (ECE II) in Manitoba.
This program is licensed under Manitoba’s Private Vocational Institutions Act (PVIA). Early Childhood Educators are highly valued in Manitoba. Job demand in the province exceeds the national average and 70% of those provincial jobs are found in Winnipeg. Presently, there is a shortage of ECE II’s in the city and the need for these educators will only continue to grow. Part of the Early Childhood Education diploma program focuses on teaching you how to create equitable, culturally-relevant learning environments that encourage meaningful conversation and play. This includes learning how to address the needs of Indigenous children and families and incorporating cultural touch points into learning activities.
Graduates of the program will have the skills and knowledge to work in day cares, pre-schools and kindergarten.
Graduates will enter the workforce ready to explore careers in the following areas:
As a Robertson student or graduate, you will have access to lifetime employment services and job search assistance through our Robertson Workforce team.
